Terms and Business Practices
Our contract with clients is simple and paperless. We ask for no money down and for payment upon acceptance of the film or photography when it is viewed. If you don't like the final product then there is no fee.
How are Films priced?
Our film prices are based upon a $400 session charge for filming, editing, and media production, plus reimbursement for travel related expenses. For example; a project which could be filmed in one session and then edited and produced in a second session would be priced at $800. This would be typical of a project for a musician or artist or a biographical interview. More complex projects with various locations and several interviewees will require more shooting sessions and more time to edit and produce. We can determine through an initial meeting the scope of sessions for your project and estimate a price that makes sense based on your budget.
Other possible expenses in video projects are related to the conversion of old video to a file which can be used on a computer. An example of media conversion is taking a VHS/8mm tape and converting it to an MPEG file. The cost for media conversion is approximately $25 per 60-minute VHS or 8mm tape. This expense occurs only if you choose to use your old video footage as part of the finished film.
For our videography, and upon acceptance and processing of your check or cash, we release a set of (2) DVDs and the original Quick Time video file which we will compress to any desired format for use on a website or through a video jukebox such as iTunes.
How is our photography priced?
We charge a $200 fee for a two-hour photo session at your location, plus reimbursement for any travel-related expenses. For our initial session fee, you receive all of the "selected for quality photos" on a disk. Beyond the $200 fee we make prints at any size on various papers and other materials such as linen or canvas. We are able to produce DVD photography slideshows with a copyright free music layer for presentation at a business meeting or at home with your family. We can create hard-copy photography books of various sizes for you and your family or business. For these additional services we work together with you on price, which will be determined by volume, enlargement size, print material, and number of copies of DVD slideshows to be burned. We can also combine photo DVDs with video clips to add a little extra interest to the photography project. We do this by filming the 2-hour photo session.
